1st Waste is reducing it’s carbon footprint!

03/03/2022

We hear a lot these days about the need to transition to a low carbon economy in order to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help tackle climate change.

We wanted to improve our energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy.

With the help of a grant from Low Carbon Dorset and the European Regional Development Fund, we have invested in 225 LED lighting panels and 68 PV panels on the roof our office at Regency House in Bournemouth.  As a result, we will be saving a huge 3,000 kgs of CO2 from the Dorset air each year.

1st Waste’s Managing Director Richard Groome said, “I’d like to thank Low Carbon Dorset for their support and I’m delighted that we are able to improve our efficiency in energy use and achieve the associated reduction in CO2 emissions.”

Funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Low Carbon Dorset helps businesses, community, and public sector organisations in Dorset.
